I am sure you are all very well aware of the spread of COVID-19/Coronavirus to Washington State. With the latest developments, a number of you have reached out with concern about Area meetings – quarterlies, preconferences, committee meetings, workshops, etc. We understand that some people may choose to not attend Area events due to personal health concerns. Please do what you believe to be best for your wellbeing and the wellbeing of others.
Currently, no Area meetings are rescheduled. If at any point things change, we will notify the committee. Please stay in touch with your home group, district and other committee meetings you attend.
As for A.A. meetings and their schedules… I have heard that some groups are considering cancelling their meetings for a time, or cleaning their meeting location before and after their meetings or even the meeting location has been closed for a time due to their landlord’s wishes. As each A.A. group is autonomous, each group will need to determine what is the best course of action for their group as well as adhere to their landlord’s wishes. If meetings do cancel or are moved for a time, please do communicate these cancellations/changes as best as you possibly can as alcoholics are still suffering.
